Legendary pop icon Prince has announced he will perform a special concert in Baltimore and he’s created a song called “Baltimore”.
The artist is staging a ‘Rally 4 Peace” concert on Sunday at the Royal Farms Arena in the city that is still recovering from the murder of Freddie Gray by police. In a statement, Prince said, “In a spirit of healing the event is meant to be a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the US”.
All those attending the concert are asked to wear grey and he says although the song Baltimore hasn’t debuted yet, the lyrics were made public. In one line, Prince says, “ Peace is more than the absence of war,” the song is a tribute to the people of Baltimore.
