Canada’s Flag-Bearer Hayley Wickenheiser Led Team Canada

Inside the Fisht Olympic Stadium, a grand total of 2873 athletes, representing 88 countries in the 2014 Winter Olympics prepared to strut their stuff during the worldwide broadcast of the opening ceremony.
However, athletes from India are set to compete as Independent Olympic Participants due NOC’s suspension from the IOC (they couldn’t even wave their flag).
Russia used the opening ceremony to celebrate their country’s history and achievements while putting on a theatrical performance. All seemed to flow effortlessly, except when technicalities rose when the fifth ring of the Olympic logo didn’t expand as expected.
Take a look at the defected ring:
£30 billion were spent (most expensive in Olympic history) and the ring malfunctioned open…yikes!
