A record-breaking partnership came from New Zealand in the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka at Wellington. On the 4th day, the hosts declared their 2nd innings on 524/5, with an unbroken 6th wicket stand of 365 between Kane Williamson 242 and wicket keeper BJ Watling 142. This is the Kiwis’ highest 6th wicket partnership since 352 last year between Watling and Brendon McCullum. At close of play, Sri Lanka seek 345 more runs for victory; they are 45/1 in their reply to New Zealand, with Kaushal Silva on 20 and Dhammika Prasad on 1.
