Root century boosts England in Grenada TestApril 23, 2015
Joe Root made his sixth Test century to put England in control against the West Indies in day three of the second Test at the National Cricket Ground in Grenada. At close of play, the Englishmen are 373/6 in the first innings. Joe Root unbeaten on 118, and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler on 4. Some scores from the top order: Gary Ballance 77, captain Alastair Cook 76, and Jonathan Trott 59. Bowling for the Windies, Shannon Gabriel picked up 2/60 from 19, and Devendra Bishoo took 2/124 from 41. This is in reply to the West Indies’ 299 all out. England lead by 74 runs with 4 wickets remaining.
