Sepp Blatter says he is stepping down as FIFA President after 17 years, amid the corruption scandal that tainted the reputation of global soccer’s governing body. The 79-year-old made the announcement, saying there is some disagreement with his mandate. Blatter was re-elected for a fifth term as president in Friday’s election, despite the arrest of seven top officials in a US-led probe that also has 14 indictments. According to ABC News, sources now allege that Blatter is being investigated by the FBI and US prosecutors as part of the corruption probe.
