The West Indies have reinstated their head coach Phil Simmons, who has apologized for his comments about the team selection. Simmons was suspended in September after he questioned why Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard were left out by selectors once again. He has since made a public apology to the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). This came ahead of the second T20 match against Sri Lanka, which the Windies won by 23 runs.
