Congratulations to Motown legend Stevie Wonder, who will be getting his very own street in Detroit, named after him!

According to InFlexWeTrust.com, the Detroit City Council recently approved the request. Sharon DuMas who is the chairperson of the Stevie Wonder Tribute Committee told Rolling Stone that the committee feels that “it’s a fitting time to honor Stevie with a visible landmark between the heart of the city and the business and entertainment districts closer to downtown,” she went on to say “with the repopulation of the city, and with the passing of so many years since the Motown era, we don’t want anyone forgetting how important people like Stevie have been to Detroit’s history.”

The council is looking to have the street in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Woodward Avenue and as of right now the unveiling will be held in May 2016 around Wonder’s 66th birthday!
