Taraji P. Henson Set to Play a NASA Scientist in Future Role

Actress Taraji P. Henson will be playing the role of a math genius in her upcoming film. The “Empire” monarch will be starring in the movie Hidden Figures which is based on the book Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race by Margot Lee Shetterly.
 
 
Taraji will be playing the role of NASA math genius Katherine Johnson, who along with her colleagues Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, were the black women responsible for helping astronaut John Glenn with his space mission during the 1960s.
 
 

This will be Henson’s first big role since winning the Golden Globe Award for best actress in a TV drama series for her work on Empire.
