Team Canada heading home after sad loss to Russia

Jan 6, 2014 | Sports | 0 comments

Sunday marked the first time Canada has failed to win a medal in a back-to-back tournament since the Program of Excellence’s inception in 1982. The team took a devastating loss to Russia by a score of 2-1. Russia’s goals were scored by Mikhail Grigorenko and Eduard Gimatov. Now, with the fourth place finish, Canada is set to once again be drawn with United States in 2015. They will also be joined by the defending gold medalist Finland, as well as Slovakia and Germany.
