Jermain Defoe is leaving Toronto FC for Sunderland. The English striker returns to the Premier League after just one season here, and part of the deal includes a trade to bring American forward Jozy Altidore back to the MLS. Defoe scored 11 goals in 16 matches for TFC, but the latter part of his campaign was marked by injury. He’s now expected to help Sunderland, who are currently 16th in the Premier League standings.
