BOB MARLEY DAY IN THE CITY OF TORONTO

In honor of the Reggae legend’s birthday, the city of Toronto is celebrating ‘Bob Marley Day’.
 
Today marks the 22nd year that the City of Toronto has recognized Bob Marley Day.
 
The city of Toronto also takes this day to present humanitarian awards to eight Torontonians. Rapper Drake is on the list of recipients for this year.
 
Marley, a musical icon, is credited for helping spread Reggae music to a worldwide audience.
 
Born on February 6, 1945, Bob Marley won the hearts of music lovers worldwide with numerous hits such as “One Love”, “Three Little Birds”, and “No Woman No Cry”. Marley died May 11, 1986 but his legacy and music still remain popular today.
