Lauryn Hill dodges prison for 2 weeks
R&B Legend Lauryn Hill has 2 more weeks of freedom.
Hill was sentenced to prison yesterday after pleading guilty to blowing off her tax returns from 2005 to 2007.
She will go to jail on May 6. This was done in order to give her a chance to pay some of her $968,000 tax debt.
There is some good news out of this story for Ms. Hill, her attorney told TMZ that the singer recently signed a million-dollar recording deal with Sony. She was planning to take a $650,000 loan to put toward the bill.
Hill faces several years in prison and her attorney is hoping for probation.
Speaking of taxes, if you live in Canada the tax deadline is the 30th of this month.
