Kobe Bryant in legal battle with his mother
As if this season couldn’t get worse for Kobe Bryant. He tore his Achilles tendon and his Lakers got swept in the first round of the playoffs, Kobe now has a new challenge, his own mother.
Bryant is in a tooth-and-nail fight with his mother over basketball memorabilia including his 1998 All-Star ring.
Kobe’s mom, Pamela Bryant, made a deal with Goldin Auctions to sell some of Kobe’s basketball stuff, including a 2000 All Star game signed ball, game and practice jerseys from his days at Lower Merion High School.
According to the lawsuit, the auction house gave Mrs. Bryant a $450,000 advance. Pamela told the auction house that Kobe gave her all of that stuff for free 5 years ago.
Kobe, however claims that he is the owner of the stuff and is trying to block the auctions.
The case has gone to court and a judge has yet to rule.
