Looks like rapper T.I. can add ‘Guardian Angel’ to his resume.
In a recent interview with VH1’s Big Morning Show, front man Scottt Stapp of Creed revealed how the rapper saved his life.
Stapp revealed that a few years ago after checking into Miami’s Delano Hotel for what he described as a “binge”. The rocker also described the hotel room as being a “prison of alcohol and drug addiction”.
Stapp started becoming delusional and started to hear voices of what he thought to be law enforcement and tried to escape the hotel room. He ended up falling 40 feet from his balcony.
The fall left Stapp paralyzed on the ground with a broken hip and nose and a fractured skull as well.
T.I. who was also staying at the same hotel discovered the Creed-front man and served as a “guardian angel,” as Stapp calls him.
The two musicians share a history together after meeting each other in 2004 while both were writing songs for The Passion of The Christ: Songs Inspired by soundtrack.
“We’d talked about being fans of Alabama… It’s ironic — he walked in, and I found out later it was the only room left in the hotel and he came in off the street and came out, and as I’m laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.’s] feet and he looked up and he had an Alabama hat on. I said, ‘roll tide,’ and then he looked at me and put two and two together and really saved my life.,” Stapp disclosed.
The rapper whose real name is Clifford Harris immediately took care of the situation and saved the rockers life according to Stapp.
This is not the first time that T.I. has saved a life. In 2010, T.I. stopped a man in Atlanta from jumping out of a 22-foot building.
