USHER AND SHAKIRA GEAR UP FOR A NEW SEASON OF THE VOICE
After the departure of Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera from NBC’s hit show The Voice, popular recording artists Usher and Shakira get set to take their places joining veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shleton.
Blake Shelton noted that the dynamic has “definitely changed” with the new cast of judges and that throwing Usher and Shakira into the mix has added a new competitiveness to the show.
“”My style is more military than anything because I’m all about the preparation. My style is to make them understand the seriousness of the craft and that they have the very best opportunity to be the greatest — or the worst — depending on how you take it,” Usher said about the show.
Usher’s new co-workers are thrilled to have the crooner on board because he has already showcased his eye (and ears) to pick out talent after turning Justin Bieber into the megastar he is today.
“As much as I hate to say this about another coach in the beginning, Usher has done what this show has yet to do – launch a superstar and that’s our goal. That’s something we want to do as an institution,” Veteran coach Adam Levine said about Usher.
As for Shakira, Usher described his new co-judge as,”Comic relief, super serious, and gangster,” explaining that “she’s so nice now but she really pulls out that switchblade in the battle.”
NBC’s “The Voice” returns back to television on March 25.
