Is the R.O.C. Stealing Music and Claiming it as Original?

Well the King of Brooklyn Jay Z who recently dropped the hyphen from his name is being sued by TufAmerica  over sampling claims.

It appears that Mr. Carter and his Roc-a-Fella affiliates have a hard time getting permission for their samples.

According to the New York Times, TufAmerica the record label that represents deceased R&B singer Eddie Bo, claims Jay Z sampled the 1969 single “Hook & Sling Part 1,″ on his 2009 Grammy-winning single “Run This Town,” which featured Rihanna and Kanye West.

This isn’t the first time TufAmerica has filed a lawsuit over sampling, “Hook & Sling Part 1.″

In 2012 they sued new father Kanye West for sampling three songs, even though his label paid a licensing fee.
