A Nation Remembers: Memorial held for the Keeper of South Africa
Today in Soweto, South Africa representatives from over 91 countries poured into the FNB stadium to pay their respects to former President, and anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela.
Mandela died at the age of 95, at his home in Johnsonburg on Dec. 5 after spending three months in the hospital battling a lung infection.
Nelson Mandela is a great political leader who spear headed the movement to end the apartheid in South Africa. He is an icon of wisdom and compassion holding no bitterness against those who put him in prison for over 25 years.
Mr. Mandela made it his duty to preach solidarity and non-violence, and always encouraged young people to focus on education.
In Mr Mandela’s life time he has inspired many of today’s political leaders, including President Barack Obama.
