Tessanne Chin Crowned Winner of Season 5 ‘The Voice’
In a star-studded season, Tessanne Chin was crowned the winner of season 5’s ‘The Voice’. The season finale featured performances by Celine Dion and Lady Gaga, who also did a duet with coach Christina Aguliera for the first time, but not even these performances could overshadow the real star of the night.
Tessanne, 28, who is also a back up singer from Jamaica, proved throughout the season that she definitely had the talent to be front and center. Especially after her rendition of Whitney Houston’s hit “I Have Nothing”, which left her coach Adam Levine, speechless. In a segment.
After host Carson Daly announced the winner, the Jamaican songstress burst into tears and Adam Levine handed the trophy to Chin. Her husband Michael and her mother Christine joined her on stage to embrace the singer as she struggled to process the news.
Chin then fought back tears to perform her debut single, Tumbling Down, which was penned for the winner, right after being crowned The Voice champion, to close out the show.
