NY Film Critic Heckles 12 Years A Slave Director
There’s a time and place for everything, but Armond White doesn’t seem to thinks so. The film critic has been kicked out of the New York Film Critics Circle after allegedly yelling harsh words to “12 Years A Slave” director Steve McQueen at the group’s annual awards banquet. He was quoted as loudly calling McQueen an “embarrassing doorman and garbage man.”
The New York Film Critics Circle met on Monday and the decision was made to remove White from the group. In an email to the Associated Press, White responded to the accusations as a “barrage of lies”. In October White referred to “12 Years A Slave” as “torture porn” in one of his reviews.
The moral of the story folks: THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!
