KRISS KROSS TO PERFORM AT 20TH ANNIVERSARY SO SO DEF CONCERT
Rappers Kris Kross made a rare appearance in Atlanta this week at a press conference in Atlanta to promote the 20th Anniversary of So So Def concert.
The label, So So Def, was founded by Hip-Hop music pioneer Jermaine Dupri and helped establish Atlanta as the mecca for R&B and Hip-hop music in the 1990s with Kris Kross leading the way.
Although the duo has not recorded new material since their 1996 album, Young, Rich & Dangerous, they will be returning to the spotlight for a special So So Def All-Star Anniversary Concert on February 23 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed honoured Jermaine Dupri at the press conference. Other So So Def performers such as Xscape, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Bonecrusher, Dem Franchize Boyz and Dondria were also in attendance.
Dupri is credited with discovering Kris Kross at an Atlanta mall in 1990. Their debut album, Totally Krossed Out went on to sell more than four million copies.
Dupri, 40, was 18 years old when he found Kris Kross, the duo were both 12 years old at the time, now they’re 34.
