SHAQUILLE O’NEAL will officially become a DOCTOR tomorrow . . . when he graduates from Miami’s Barry University with a doctorate in education. Specifically, his degree is in organizational learning and leadership, with a specialization in human resource development. He’s been working on it for four and a half years, and he graduates with a 3.81 GPA. Shaq says, quote, “Kids can still call me Shaq, but adults should call me Dr. O`Neal. As for why he did it, he says, quote, “One, I wanted to continue challenging myself, see if I could do it.  I was a medium-level juvenile delinquent, didn’t believe in school.  But my parents instituted no pass-no play in our house, and that changed my life.
“Also, a lot of kids look up to me, especially my own kids, and now that I’m not playing anymore, I want them to have something to look up to me for.” In 1992, Shaq left Louisiana State after three years to join the NBA.  But he eventually finished his bachelor’s degree.  Then in 2005, he got a master’s in business administration online, through the University of Phoenix. And he says he’s not done learning.  He’s looking at a possible degree in law or psychology next.
Shaq is also a reserve police officer in Miami Beach and Los Angeles. – Love it!!
Two Hulk movies, two “Iron Man” movies, “Thor”, “Captain America”, and a bunch of Samuel L. Jackson cameos have all been leadup to The new Avengers movie. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth are back in their roles as Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor.  But this is Mark Ruffalo’s first time as the Hulk’s alter ego, Dr. Bruce Banner. (–Eric Bana played him in 2003 for the first film.  Ed Norton did it five years later for “The Incredible Hulk”.  The Hulk himself is computer-generated.) Samuel Jackson is back as Nick Fury, the eyepatch-wearing leader of an organization called SHIELD.  He puts the team together . . . along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Thor’s adopted brother Loki is the bad guy.  And he’s recruited an army from another world to help him take over our planet. Check out Tony Stark telling Loki that Avengers are coming for him.
