Whitney Houston’s funeral went on as planned on Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey and it was a classy event that didn’t go without any drama.  BOBBY BROWN attended but left before it even started because security was harassing him.  He issued a statement saying, quote, “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston.  –“We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.  I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continued to ask us and no one else to move.”  As if that weren’t enough, Bobby says he was also prevented from seeing his and Whitney’s 18-year-old daughter BOBBI KRISTINA.  –He added, quote, “In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene.”  –Bobby said, quote, “This was a day to honor Whitney.  I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur.  I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”  –TMZ says that Bobby is leaving out one important detail:  Whitney’s family invited Bobby and TWO guests . . . but he showed up at the church with NINE people, and got mad when he was told they couldn’t seat all of them.

Kevin Costner spoke about thier co-starring roles in the 1992 film “The Bodyguard”, Kevin said, quote, “A lot of leading men could have played my part, a lot of guys could have filled that role, but you Whitney, I truly believe are the only one who could have played Rachel Marron.  –“You weren’t just pretty, you were as beautiful as a woman could be.  People didn’t just like you, they loved you.”

A member of the Degrassi family has been dead for over 4 years and noone knew til now. Neil Hope, who starred in Degrassi Junior High from 1987-1989 as Derek “Wheels” Wheeler, was found dead in a Hamilton, Ontario, rooming house more than four years ago, but his estranged family just learned of his passing last month. Police found Hope’s body on Nov. 25, 2007 and ultimately determined that the 35-year-old, who was diabetic, had died of natural causes. Hope’s onetime fiancée, Christina Boulard, told the Star that her ex’s brother and sister-in-law had heard rumors that he had died several years ago and that police had informed Hope’s parents that they suspected the death, but that certain records didn’t match up. He was buried in 2008 at an undisclosed location. The actor last played Wheels in 2003 on the ongoing reboot Degrassi: The Next Generation, when he showed up to rock out with former bandmates Joey Jeremiah and Archie “Snake” Simpson. Hope also played Griff on the original incarnation of the series, 1979’s The Kids of Degrassi Street.
“Neil made an important contribution to our lives, to the lives of our television team, who are like a family to us, and indeed to the lives of many Canadians and others around the world who were influenced by Neil and the roles he played,” Degrassi producers Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn said in a statement.

According to, the long awaited sequel to Waiting To Exhale will go on as planned despite the death of Whitney Houston. Loretta Devine, who played “Gloria Matthews,” along with Dennis Haysbert, who played Whitney’s love-interest in the movie, “Kenneth Dawkins” both have  conflicting views on how to proceed. Devine said, “I hope it goes forward. Gregory Hines also passed away and he played my love interest in the movie. They found a way around that.” She also added, “I think it would be an honor and I think it’s something that Whitney would want to see happen. Devine said the movie be dedicated to her considering she played a crucial role in the first film’s success. As for Haysbert, he said, “I’m not sure how I feel about moving forward without Whitney. It’s not gonna have the same vibration.”
