The NHL has announced that rapper Drake will perform between the second and third periods of Sunday’s NHL All-Star Game at Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place. The Toronto-born rapper’s second album, Take Care, was released in November and debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at No. 1. Other entertainers announced for Sunday’s game include New York rapper
Outasight and Javier Colon, the first season winner of The Voice, on NBC. Colon, best known for his song Stitch by Stitch, will sing the U.S. national anthem. Ontario Provincial Police
officer Lyndon Slewidge, who has been the Senators’ regular anthem singer since the team’s inaugural 1992-1993 season, will sing the Canadian anthem.

“Broadcasting & Cable” says DIDDY is starting “a music-themed cable network” called “Revolt,” which is expected to launch on December 12th. “Sources” say it’s a “music and music news channel with an urban skew.”  In other words, old-school MTV and/or BET . . . geared toward an African American audience. Charles Barkley is also launching a black themed network called Kin TV which he is the co-founder of. Kin TV is set to launch in the spring.
Chelsea Handler isn’t famous for holding her tongue, so when she dropped by the Howard Stern show and the conversation switched to her relationship with 50 Cent, she had no
problem “talking de tings”. When asked what went wrong, Chelsea said “We dated for a couple months and then we had a falling out,” “One of his ex-girlfriends (Ciara) was coming onto
my show.” According to Handler, Fif wanted to give her a heads up that his ex still had feelings for him, but Chelsea had other things on her mind—namely, her job. Chelsea says she
has no hard feelings and says quote “I do think he’s a really nice guy and I think he’s smart in a certain way.” WOW. Chelsea might want to speak to someone about running her mouth
about 50 and that person’s name is Ja Rule.

Yesterday on the ABC daytime show “The Revolution”, Tim Gunn admitted that he hasn’t played leapfrog with another man in 29 YEARS.  (–Yes, Tim is openly gay.  And he’s 58 years old, meaning he’s been celibate since he was 29.) He said, quote, “Do I feel like less of a person for it?  No!  Not even remotely . . . I’m a perfectly happy, fulfilled individual and I have feelings.  I mean it’s not as though I’m some barren forest.” Tim got a little choked up when he explained WHY it’s been so long. He said, quote, “It’s largely psychological for me.  I was in a very intense relationship for a long time.” And my partner ended it saying, quite frankly, that he was impatient with my sexual performance.” He added that this was at the “cusp of AIDS” and, quote, “a lot of people retreated, concerned about their health.  I know I certainly was.  I’m happy to be healthy and alive, quite frankly.” Gunn clarified that he’s not AGAINST having sex.  He said, quote, “I don’t want to imply to anyone that I have a mandate that says ‘no sex’.  I don’t.  I don’t know what’s around the corner.”

The Oscar nominees are out and Mary J. Blige was NOT happy about the fact that she wasn’t nominated for “original song”.  She was considered a front-runner for the song “The Living Proof,” a ballad she penned for The Help. To make matters worse the category she was excluded from usually has 5 nominees and this year they only chose 2. Mary tweeted about it saying “Im so thankful for true fans like you all, it saddens me and feels like the Academy is being mean 2 only nominate 2 of the 5 slots is.. ”
