DO NOT ASK RIHANNA TOO MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT CHRIS BROWN!
CHRIS BROWN is obviously still a raw subject for RIHANNA . . . because she got pretty ticked off at a reporter for the British edition of “Esquire” who brought it up. The interviewer asked Rihanna about recording two remixes with Chris earlier this year, saying it might send the wrong message that she had, quote, “gone back to someone who put you in the hospital.” Not surprisingly, that set her off.
She said, quote, “Oh really? Did I? Did I? Did I? Did I?” She added, quote, “If I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that’s a whole different discussion. I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect and they ended up looking stupid.”
But the interviewer kept going, saying it might be hard for the public to separate a professional reconciliation from a personal one. Rihanna said, quote, “This is turning into a tacky interview. What do you really want to talk about? I’m not here to [talk] about messy [crap]. When the asked if the interview was upsetting her she responded by saying “It upsets me that you keep asking the same kind of questions about stuff that’s trivial. What’s there to talk about? Are all your questions like that?”
R.I.P. HERB REED
HERB REED . . . the last surviving member of the ’50s group THE PLATTERS . . . passed away on Monday. He was 83, and had been suffering from chronic lung problems.
Herb founded the group, and named them The Platters because DJs called their records “platters” at the time. He sang the bass part on hits like “Only You”, “The Great Pretender”, “Twilight Time” and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”. The Platters whose popularity crossed racial lines, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Reed was the only member of the Platters to record on all of their nearly 400 recordings.
