Third man charged in 2014 death of Pickering woman

A man has been charged as the third suspect in the murder of a Pickering woman last year. Durham Regional Police says the body of 39-year-old Carmela Knight was found in the burned-out garage of her home on Pebblestone Crescent in September 2014. Knight’s death was considered suspicious, and investigators found signs of trauma. Matthew Knight, Carmela’s brother-in-law, was recently arrested in Florida and deported to Canada. He was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, and accessory after the fact. Two other arrests were made in February; the victim’s husband David Knight and another man, Graham McDonald, were charged with first-degree murder.
