Martin Luther King Awarded Nobel Peace Prize 

 
 
On this in 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in his non-violent Civil Rights movement.
 

Dr. King was a Clergyman and Civil Rights Activist who is best known for his 1963 March on Washington where he delivered his ‘I have a dream’ speech.
  
On April 4, 1968, Dr. King was assassinated while standing on Lorraine Motel, second floor balcony.
