First Black American Democratic Chairman Elected

 
In 1989, Ron Brown was elected the first black chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
 
He played a vital role during Bill Clinton’s successful presidential run in 1992. His great works led Clinton to appointing him as Secretary of Commerce in 1993.
 
Brown’s legacy has paved the way for modern politics.
