Toronto officer in Sammy Yatim case pleads not guilty

A Toronto police officer has pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of a teenager two years ago. Constable James Forcillo is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder in the death of Sammy Yatim. The 18-year-old was fatally shot on an empty streetcar on Dundas Street West in July 2013, in an incident caught on surveillance and cell phone cameras. Forcillo’s not-guilty plea was entered as jury selection began in a Toronto courthouse today.
