Our thoughts are with the family of Canadian rapper Shane Redway.

The up-and-coming rapper died in a car crash early Saturday after his vehicle veered off the road, hitting the right-side guard rail and bursting into flames while headed north on Hwy 427. The crash also claimed the lives of two women who were in the vehicle with Redway.

A donation page was created by Redway’s family to help with funeral expenses and can be found here:

“Redway was known for being a passionate artist who was always striving for greatness, pushing the boundaries of always believing in your visions and dreams which led to the creation of the BLVD (The Belief Leading Visions & Dreams)” reads the donation page.

The family is asking for privacy at this present time.

Fellow Toronto rappers including Drake and Kardinal Offishall took to social media to share their condolences, and shocked responses about the late Mississauga rapper’s tragic death.

“RIP young Redway. He was on his way to greatness. Everybody only had amazing things to say. Gone too soon. God bless his fam and friends,” Kardinal Offishall tweeted.

“Gone way too soon. Just saw this guy yesterday at Bounce. RIP Redway,” Drake wrote in a post on Instagram.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the collision and any witnesses are asked to come forward.
