Usain Bolt is one of three finalists who could receive the IAAF’s Male Athlete of the Year award. The Jamaican Olympic gold winning track star defended his 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay titles at this year’s World Championships in Beijing. Bolt is up against two Americans for the award. Ashton Eaton, the decathlete who won a second straight gold at the 400m in Beijing, and Christian Taylor, who won the triple jump at the worlds with 18.21m, the second-best result in history. The IAAF usually announces the winners in a ceremony, but that has been cancelled due to the ongoing doping scandal in athletics.
