West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) chief executive Michael Muirhead addressed the suspension of coach Phil Simmons. He’s assuring everyone that Simmons has not been fired, but he has been called to answer to breaches of confidentiality. Muirhead says the board hopes to decide on his future in the next seven days. Simmons was suspended after comments about what he called “outside influences” in the ODI squad selection. He’s been replaced in the interim by selector Eldine Baptiste ahead of the Sri Lanka tour starting October 14.
