Windies coach Simmons laments star players' absence from Test series

Dec 24, 2015 | Cricket, Sports | 0 comments

West Indies head coach Phil Simmons is speaking out about missing his star players in their current tour of Australia. Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy and Andre Russell are down under, but not as Windies players; instead they’re in the Big Bash League. Simmons says it’s frustrating that they have yet to play a Test series, and that administrators should figure out how to lure them back in. The coach has been outspoken before; in September he complained about the selection for their Sri Lanka tour. Those comments got him suspended and he was reinstated in November. The Windies take on Australia in the 2nd Test starting on Boxing Day in Melbourne.
