Australia are the 2015 Cricket World Cup champions, claiming the title on home soil. They defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets inside the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Kiwis saw a 4th wicket partnership of 111 between Grant Elliott 83 and Ross Taylor 40, before being bowled out for 183. Bowling for Australia, player of the match James Faulkner took 3/36 from 9, and Mitchell Johnson took 3/30 from 9. Thanks to their bowlers, Australia had an easy chase, posting 186/3 from 33.1 overs. Helping to secure the title was captain Michael Clarke 74, Steve Smith 56 not out, and David Warner 45. The player-of-the-series title went to Aussie fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Australia now have their fifth World Cup title, the most for any team; no other country has more than two. (Image source: BBC)
