Feb 18, 2015 | Cricket, Sports | 0 comments

Afghanistan made their first ever Cricket World Cup appearance in Canberra with pride, but that pride turned to discouragement after a 105-run defeat to Bangladesh. Wicket keeper and player of the match Mushfiqur Rahim made 71 and Shakib Al Hasan added 63 to bring Bangladesh to 267 all out. The Afghans were overwhelmed when they were bowled out for 162; captain Mohammad Nabi made 44 and Samiullah Shenwari made 42. Bangladeshi bowler Mashrafe Mortaza took 3/20 from 9 overs, and Shakib Al Hasan took 2/43 from 8.5 overs.
