     World Cup 2015: De Villiers guides Proteas into last eight

South Africa's captain AB de Villiers led his side into the Cricket World Cup quarterfinals with ease as the Proteas clobbered the United Arab Emirates by 146 runs in Wellington, New Zealand. Player of the match de Villiers top-scored with 99 to form part of South Africa's score of 341/6 from 50 overs. Farhaan Behardien smashed an unbeaten 64 off 31 deliveries. Other scores: David Miller 49, and Rilee Rossouw 43. Bowling for the UAE, Mohammad Naveed picked up 3/63 from 10 overs. Wicket keeper Swapnil Patil made 57 not out, but it wasn't nearly enough for the Emirates, who were bowled out for 195. Three South African bowlers took two wickets each: de Villiers 2/15 from 3, Vernon Philander 2/34 from 8.3 overs, and Morne Morkel 2/23 from 10 overs. (Image source: ESPN Cricinfo)
