Rohit Sharma took centre stage as India move on to the semifinals in search of a second straight title. This after a commanding 109-run victory over Bangladesh in Melbourne. India got off to a strong as man of the match Rohit Sharma hit 137 off 126 balls. Rohit was also part of a 4th wicket stand of 122 with Suresh Raina who made 65. All of this lifted them to 302/6 from their 50 overs. Bowling for Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed picked up 3/69 from 10 overs. The Bangladeshis crumbled in their response of 193 all out, with India’s bowling on the attack: Umesh Yadav 4/31 from 9, Mohammed Shami 2/37 from 8, and Ravi Jadeja 2/42 from 8. Up next: Australia and Pakistan fight for a semifinal spot at the Adelaide Oval.
