Kumar Sangakkara made magic for Sri Lanka and left Scotland without a win, after a 148-run thrashing in Tasmania. Sangakkara the wicket keeper became the first player to score 4 straight ODI centuries with 124. It’s also his fifth World Cup hundred; that’s one behind the record holder, Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar. Adding to Sangakkara’s success was a 2nd wicket partnership of 195 with Tillakaratne Dilshan 104. All this before both men were dismissed by Scotland’s Josh Davey, who picked up 3/63 from 8 overs. Sri Lanka’s total: 363/9 from their 50 overs. In comparison, the Scots fell to 215 all out; Freddie Coleman made 70, and skipper Preston Mommsen made 60. Bowling for Sri Lanka, Nuwan Kulasekara took 3/20 from 7, and Dushmantha Chameera took 3/51 from 7.1.
