New York native Andre Hatchett was exonerated last Thursday after serving twenty-five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
Hatchett was serving a life imprisonment over the murder of his friend 38-year-old Neda Mae Carter who was found dead in Bedford-Stuyvesant park back in 1991. Investigators said that Carter was last seen with Hatchett before her death.
Hatchett is the 19th wrongfully-convicted prisoner freed by the Brooklyn District Attorney Conviction Review Unit.
