Yaya Toure reacts angrily to CAF player of the year award snub

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure isn’t happy about failing to win the player of the year award from the Confederation of African Football. The Ivorian came in second to Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who’s the first from Gabon to take the award. In the Africa Cup of Nations, Toure was Ivory Coast captain when they won the title in 2015. As for Aubameyang, he scored 18 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches in Germany, but his Gabonese national team was knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage. Toure believes CAF is more focused on achievements outside Africa than within the continent.
