Thanks in part to Younis Khan, Pakistan pulled off their record-smashing run chase in a 7 wicket triumph over Sri Lanka at the 3rd and final Test match. Set 377 for victory, the visitors overwhelmed their opponents with a second innings total of 382/3; this was Pakistan’s highest successful chase, the second highest in all of Asia, and the sixth highest in the Test format worldwide. The chase was led by man of the match Younis Khan with an unbeaten 171. Younis joined Shan Masood (who made 125) for a 3rd wicket stand of 242 – the highest fourth-innings partnership by Pakistan. The skipper Misbah ul Haq was unbeaten on 59. Bowling champ Yasir Shah was named the player of the series. After 3 Tests, Pakistan claim the series 2-1, in their first series win in Sri Lanka since 2006.
