Recently on the E!’s show “Fashion Police”, Giuliana Rancic relayed some negative remarks about Disney actress Zendaya Coleman. Coleman chose to wear dreadlocks to the Oscars on Sunday, which prompted Rancic to say “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil, or weed”. After hearing about the comments, Zendaya took to social media to “hit back” at Rancic, without calling her name:

She also went on to name a few successful African-Americans who all have locs, & none of which “like patchouli oil, or weed”. Some of the people she mentioned includes, Ava Duvernay, Ledisi, Terry McMillan & Vincent Brown. Zendaya ending her post by suggesting that “…some people should listen to India Arie’s “I Am Not My Hair”, and contemplate a little before opening your mouth so quickly to judge.”
Rancic has since took to Twitter to apologize & state that her comments were “referring to a Bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!”
