A funeral was held today for Ken Taylor, the former Canadian ambassador to Iran. He was most well known for his role in helping to free six Americans during the Iran hostage crisis in 1979. In attendance were family, friends, and dignitaries, who gathered at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. Taylor died of cancer on October 15 in New York; he was 81 years old. His story has been immortalized many times, including in Argo, the 2012 film which Taylor accused of minimizing Canada’s role in the crisis.
