The England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) incoming chairman Colin Graves stood by the dismissal of Peter Moores as national coach. The ECB was criticized for the move after reports were confirmed this weekend, but Graves said the decision was largely one to be overseen be the new director of cricket Andrew Strauss. Moores was let go after England’s poor showing at the World Cup, and the 1-1 Test series draw in the West Indies. Assistant coach Paul Farbrace will take coaching duties ahead of the two-Test series against New Zealand starting May 21 at Lord’s.
