At least two cricketers will finish 2015 on a high note. Australia’s captain Steve Smith ends the year as the ICC’s number 1 Test batsman, after already being named the cricketer of the year, and Test cricketer of the year. Smith was ranked number 4 before the start of the second Test against the West Indies, but he went straight to the top after unbeaten scores of 134 in the first innings and 70 in the second innings. The other man to be honoured is offspinner Ravi Ashwin of India, who’s been declared the number 1 Test bowler and the number one Test allrounder. Ashwin took 62 wickets in 9 Tests this year. He also impressed with the bat, making 248 runs in 14 innings.
