Back in 1997, Legendary rapper Christopher Wallace, known by his stage name the Notorius B.I.G. was leaving an after party for that years’ Soul Train Awards in Los Angeles in the early morning hours.

While Wallace’s SUV was stopped at a red light at the corner of Wilshire Blvd & South Fairfax, a dark colored Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up alongside the SUV. A undentified man inside the Impala fired at it.

The young rapper was hit and shortly rushed to hospital where doctors performed an emergency thoracotomy, but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. 6 months after rapper Tupac Shakur was killed.

Wallace affectionally known as the “King of New York” was only 24 years-old.

To this day, Wallace’s murder has remained unsolved.
