The West Indies thought they were on to something, but India thought differently. The defending champs booked a spot in the quarterfinals with a 4-wicket victory in Perth, Australia. Windies skipper Jason Holder made 57 that pushed his team to 182 all out. India’s man of the match Mohammed Shami took 3/35 from 8 overs. It seemed like trouble for India early on as Windies bowlers Jerome Taylor and Kemar Roach shattered their top order. But captain and wicket keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit an unbeaten 45 to guide India to 185/6 from 39.1 overs.
